I’m not a perfect person.

There’s many things I wish I didn’t do.

Not actually, but I thought quoting a few song lyrics would be a good way to start.

Bonus points if you can tell me what song that’s from. Make sure to leave a comment in the section below, and don’t forget to subscribe!

No, we’re not defeating any Huns here, just in case you needed that cleared up. Sorry to disappoint. We can sing Disney later.

…My guess is that sarcastic jokes about Youtubers don’t translate well into blog posts, so I’ll cut that one short.

Anyways, let’s get down to business, shall we?

Technically, I’ve only been an adult for a few years now, and it’s been one hell of an experience.

To be honest, it makes me mad. Here I am, thrown out into the middle of things, and there are no freaking guide books! There’s no instruction manual telling me how to figure out who I am, decide what I want out of life, and what’s going to ultimately make me happy. There’s no angel sitting on my shoulder directing my decisions and accurately predicting the future outcome of every choice I make, and the devil thing isn’t real either.

What I do have, however, is a collection of people telling me who they think I am, what they think I should do, and what beliefs and ideas work for them.

Let me tell you, it’s hard enough to sort myself out with all the cultural pressures and noise replaying in my head all the time, but add all my loved ones putting their opinions in the mix? I get confused. Over think things. Go a little crazy sometimes. You know, we all lose the plot on occasion, right?

I, for one, am sick of it. I’m sick of trying to navigate life alone, trying to keep everyone pleased and happy all the time, and so freaking tired of letting doubts, fears, and insecurities dictate how I feel about myself and my future.

My guess is? You are too.

And that’s why I decided to start this little blog here – to get serious with my life and what I want out of it, and to encourage you to do the same. We’ll find happiness together, reclaim the magic that life tried to tear out of us, and live life not as other’s see fit, but by what gives us fulfillment and purpose.

Don’t forget to bring your favorite cat(s) too. It’ll help you out by at least 78%.

Like I stated before, I’ll be tackling all things (well, quite a few), relevant to young adults, and all those who want to find their own magic in life. We’ll discuss the mundane – meal planning, chores, how to take care of yourself when the world doesn’t seem to allow you too – and all the fun, like books, games, most entertaining youtubers, and other crap.

It’ll be awesome.

So bring a cup of tea, grab your favorite blanket, and get yourself settled in. We’re in for quite the adventure.
